in particular iodine, nickel, cobalt, manganese and copper. Like
all the other kind of lettuces, it is rich in “lactucarium”,
a lactiferous juice which has an analgesic, sedative and hypnotic
action: to strengthen their healthy effects, it is suggested to
eat lettuce salads in particular at dinner, because their sedative
action helps sleeping.
Canasta lettuce is furthermore a source of folic acid, an important
vitamin for blood cells reproduction.
