Green batavia has an oval shape with big, curly and green leaves
whose heart is rather open.

Its weight is ranging between 250 and 450 g.
Nutritional values:
It is poor in calories, but rich in vitamins, minerals, iodine, nickel,
cobalt, manganese and copper. It is a good source of folic acid,
an important vitamin for blood cells reproduction.
Thanks to its lactucarium content, it has an analgesic, sedative
and hypnotic action.
It is suggested to eat it for dinner due to
its sedative action.

It is mainly used raw in salads. Either alone or as a side dish with
meat or fish gives the dishes a special taste.
